Premade Custom Book Covers + New Etsy Shop

Hi Yall! I've been thinking of ways to keep the spirit of Thriftionary alive during this time of little to no thrifting. I often look back at old images of myself over the years and think how fun it would be to make more creative use of those pictures. As you know I make lots of things from Thriftionary product shots– like collages, gifs for Instagram, and clothing tags. I toyed with ideas before, but now I'm actually doing it...making ebook covers from them!

This is an vintage style black and white ebook cover featuring a Black American woman. She is shown from the nose down dressed in a 50s style knee length lingerie robe holding a potted calathea plant. She appears to be on a porch with lawn furniture and more potted plants behind her. The title reads "Violet's Garden: The full and extraordinary life of one family's matriarch by Lonsca O. Darman"

Its been a really interesting way to not only stretch those old images but also reimagine me in different stories and times. I've enjoyed it so much in fact I started a new Etsy shop– BoundBooksBoutiqueSG

As of now, the book covers are a mix of fiction and nonfiction ebook covers, but I'd love to eventually make paperback book covers.

This premade custom eBook cover 'Still Holding On' is great cover art design for a romance novel, a memoir, or spiritual/inspirational story. The cover features a Black woman with her eyes shut, positioned partially in the frame with a crown of flowers placed upon her head of natural hair.

This custom made vintage style ebook cover design features the title "Dainty" in a lovely cursive script. The image features the top of an old mannequin from the wooden neckpost to just under the bust. The mannequin wears a peach nightgown with pearly peach buttons and light lace at the decolletage.

The photo cover features the side profile of a black woman with her neck and shoulder sensually exposed outside of a blue piece of fabric, a crown of flowers is place on top of her natural hair, a gold necklace hangs from her neck. The cover also features pink, black and white fonts.

The images are primarily my own images from both Thriftionary shoots and my professional portrait and product photography work

This book cover features a pastel pink, blue, black and white scene. The POV is partially under water partially above. A woman partially submerged is dressed in a thin nightgown with a dark blue bodysuit underneath. Above water the tops of reddish buildings looms over her. The title OVER UNDER is in all caps and black text.

I'll add more to my Pinterest board as I go.

Check them out and let me know what you think!

This image is a pink, almost christmas themed flat lay of an ereader, perhaps a kindle. White doily an chocolate puffed donut sprinkled with nuts and a cup of coffee sits on either side of the ereader. The device screen shows the image of a book "THE MAN WAR: A NOVEL" on the screen. The ebook features collaged piece that features volcanic smoke rising from the lips of and obscuring the face of a dark man. The man and smoke are against a bright orange backdrop with the words "The Man War: A Novel" in yellow and white font.

New Things on Etsy + Photos

I'm reconfiguring the look of both Thriftionary and my photography shops on Etsy. Every time I move I naturally start to incorporate my surroundings into my product photography.
Lately, I've been staging photos with all of my house plants.
The framed photos are my first try at making mockups from scratch (go me!).

Cutenesity Christmas Photoshoot

Hey you guys! It's that time of year again...you know, 'the most wonderful time'.
I've been doing quite a lot of photoshoots lately and feel like I haven't thrifted in ages.*
Today I want to share with you a part 1 of the Christmas shoot I did with Cutenesity!
Cutenesity is a children's accessories brand that focuses on handmade bows and bowties for little ones. Our annual Christmas shoot was tons of fun and here are some of my favorite images.

* I may or may not have picked up a pair of bright green pumps, a few necklaces this week...ahem.

Happy Holiday's yall!
