Today I though I'd share some images from my summer thrifting hauls.

Thriftionary + Semple Magazine

Hey! I've just gotten settled back here in London from our stateside visit and I wanted to share some cool news with you. Some of Thriftionary's vibrant threads were pulled for a styled shoot for issue IX of Semple Magazine here in London. Pretty cool!

Here are a few of my favorite shots from the shoot "In the Eye of the Beholder" by photographer Leanne Dixon.

Check out the full issue here!
Which are you favorites from the shoot?

Summer Styling Ideas

Summer weather is just around the corner for some of us and already sizzling some of our soles. The weather we are experiencing in London today is absolutely less than desirable, but not off season.
Despite the weather I'm dreaming up some summer styling ideas for Shop Thriftionary's latest vintage items.

This look features Thriftionary's 90s suede leather skirt with a side slit. This highwaisted leather skirt  is perfect paired with a crop top or a bralette. Ooo or one of those cute wrap tops I want!
This is my favorite outfit inspiration set! It features the recently listed bleach dyed denim jacket with floral appliqué. I love this outfit because this is the type of summer outfit I'm looking forward to here in London. It's not quite warm enough to be out here in shorts and crop tops yet, so this is perfect for one of those breezy, cool sunny days ahead.

Get these 100% cotton sage green eyelet shorts while you can! I love the scalloped hem and paisley shaped eyelets on these. I'm wondering why I'm not keeping these actually because you won't see me in jeans around July if I can help it.
I love these highwaisted jeans with white rope accents featured in this set! They are pretty long making them perfect for cuffing or pairing with a cute espadrille wedge.

I hope summertime is on its way to you!
Wishing you some gorgeous sunny days.

Etsy changes + Shop Updates

If you are currently selling on Etsy you know about the new site changes that are coming.
I've been both excited and anxious about it, but mostly curious about how this will effect our shops and the look of the site as a whole.

Among the changes the larger images and readily available reviews section seem like great ideas, while the endless scrolling feels a bit odd.  My store isn't yet viewable to the public in the new format, but this is what the work-in-progress looks like. Pretty plain at the moment.
The new banner I will add spans the whole top section much like Facebook banners. I can see how this new space could be an awesome branding opportunity!

I also like the new Shop Updates feature available through the Sell on Etsy app. Each of these images is marked with a little E tag and is shareable to all of your main social media networks.

Being able to see little behind the scenes shots, lifestyle images and other random updates, all on your homepage, is so awesome! Opening up my dash has that instant inspiration feel that you get from scrolling through Pinterest. As soon as I log in my screen full of vibrant images like these from a few of my favorite shops.

Thriftionary and Jujujust
Boo and Boo Factory and Dorcas Creates

Whatever happens we will all adjust I'm sure. Some of our favorite websites go through these changes big and smalll every year.  I'm excited to see what's in Etsy's future as more people are opening up storefronts online each day!

If you'd like to learn more about how you can get your shop ready for the changes take a look at this piece in the seller handbook about it. Here.

Thriftionary Vintage Spring Styling Ideas + Where to Wear?

Even though I think we are living in an anything-goes-era of fashion, I think it can still be hard to incorporate vintage items into your day to day wardrobe–especially as the seasons for wearing less layers are coming. I've picked a few Thriftionary pieces and styled them as simply as I could using one of my favorite styling resources.
Take a look and let me know what you think!

Festival season is almost upon us. You know what that means: fringe, flower crowns, cropped tops and we're all praying NO Native American headdresses. These two looks (above and below) are still cute and unique enough to rock from AfroPunk to Coachella. The unisex medium tan fringe jacket is perfect for when night comes and the temperature starts to dip out there on the green.
The look below features these size 4 100% cotton green high waist cut out shorts from Thriftionary's shop. I love these because they are thin, and cotton–comfortable enough to wear on the hottest of days.

Where to wear? All of this summer's festivals!

This free size silk floral Bob Mackie lingerie top could appear difficult to style at first glance. The bold colors and the print plus the sheerness of the top could leave you wondering what season and to where? I think this top is such a great piece to layer with for spring and summer. I am sort of obsessed with bralettes much like the rest of the internet and the Urban Outfitters crowd, so it's no surprise I'd pair one with this sorta see-through kimono style lingerie top. Pairing the kimono top with an otherwise all black ensemble makes styling it easy-peasy.

Where to wear? Saturday art gallery crawling with your artsy friend–me  (lol)
This retro coral and white paisley size 14 fit-n-flare dress is a quick and easy spring fit! The print is so fresh and the shape is so spring. I think pairing it with a pump will dress it up just enough for a spring wedding. You could go all out with a floppy hat and wedge sandals and make it a cute retro resort look–though personally I'm loving the strappy heels and floral clutch wedding possibilities!

Where to wear? Spring wedding looks ya'll. All. Day!
Polka dots are classic. Red with white polka dots is probably the classic of the polka dot classics. I'm not sure if this size 4 polka dot Liz Claiborne dress would be difficult to style for anyone. The pencil dress shape and all over print just call for a pop of color or texture. Thats pretty much it. That's the ease of wearing a dress with an all over pattern/print. I provided some accessories anyway to illustrate! I think the best way to style it would be to add a skinny leather belt just above the waist with a simple tassle detail and some pumps.

Where to wear? Simplify your morning and wear it to work!
"An oversized woven clutch? But WHY?!" It's one of those things you don't even know that you need. LOL! I love this piece because its quirky and unexpected, but useful. In the summer time when you are on vacay and aren't interested in carrying more than your shades and a small handbag, this fits right under your arm holding your compact, I.D., and hotel key.You. Are. Welcome.

Where to where? On vacation–Saint Tropez maybe!?

If you missed the Vday sale don't be sad! There's still time to take 15% off any of these Thriftionary vintage items (and more) till May. Just use code: THANKYOU15
